The following information includes subsidies, payment, cancellation, refund and health policies.

Although every effort is made to ensure that the contents of the online program guide are correct, periodically errors do occur or circumstances change. OSCA reserves the right to make changes as required.

Registration Policies

Registration is on a first come first served basis.

OSCA Subsidies

Available to residents of Old Ottawa South:

Where does the OSCA Subsidy Fund come from? OSCA has a small amount of money available to help out residents of Old Ottawa South. The Subsidy Fund is drawn directly and entirely from program fees from our participants or fundraising. None of the funding comes from Municipal, Provincial or Federal Governments.

The process is as follows:

  • Subsidy will only be considered for persons applying to OSCA prior to registration by using the Subsidy Aplication Form available in the office.
  • A subsidy will be provided only where there is demonstrated financial need by one or more of the following: a) Receipt of Ontario Works, b) Receipt of Ontario Disability Pension, c) Receipt of Childcare Benefits d) A current T4 Slip/Income Tax Return.
  • Subsidies are limited to a maximum of 1/3 of the program cost of one program per family member per session up to a maximum of $200 per person per year and to a maximum of $500 per family per year.

Payment

On-Line Registration payment by VISA or MASTER CARD only.

In-Person Registration Payment can be made by VISA / MASTER CARD, exact cash or cheques payable to OSCA. There will be a $25.00 charge for NSF cheques. Adult Programs include 13% HST where applicable. Please note that program fees will be pro-rated where spaces are available at the halfway point unless otherwise indicated.

Photograph Waiver

Please note on our registration form if you do not wish your photo to be used for promotion purposes.

Cancellations and Refunds

  1. Full refunds will be given for any program cancelled due to insufficient registration.
  2. A refund will not be issued if it jeopardizes the operation of a program.
  3. The request for a refund must be submitted by email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . A $10.00 administrative fee applies to all refunds that are requested by participants. There is no administrative fee when a program is cancelled by the Centre.
  4. Pro-rated refunds will be made at any time if the participant has a valid medical reason, substantiated with a doctor’s note.
  5. Subject to the clauses above, refunds may be requested as follows:
  • prior to the second class – Pro-rated plus $10 Admin Fee.
  • after second class and before the mid-point of the program – Pro-rated plus $10 Admin Fee
  • after the program mid-point - no refund.
     6.  Please allow three weeks for the processing of all refunds.

Cancelled Classes

On occasion, classes are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (sick instructor, gym cancellation). We try to make up these classes, but it is not always possible for us to do so.

Allergies / Health Concerns

We have people in our programs with LIFE THREATENING ALLERGIES TO PEANUTS / NUTS and BYPRODUCTS. Please help us reduce the risk by not eating any foods that contain peanut / nut by-products while at the centre.

Start Dates

All program dates are listed below each course outline. Please check all program dates when you register. We do not contact participants prior to the start of their classes.
