Online Registration for October After 4 and Breakfast Club Is Open

We noticed that parents have been having difficulty registering for the October sessions of After 4 and Breakfast Club through their online family profiles. It was still possible to register for the month in-person at the Old Ottawa South Community Centre (260 Sunnyside Avenue), and by phone at 613-247-4946. The issue has since been resolved, and you will now be able to register online as well.

Fall Program Highlight: High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

HIIT WebsiteHigh intensity interval training (HIIT) is a new program at the Firehall, and is a type of cardio training in which you alternate short, very high intensity intervals with longer, slower intervals to recover. This type of training has been used by athletes to improve performance, but it’s also been shown to benefit the average exerciser. HIIT training not only helps performance, it also improves the ability of the muscles to burn fat.

Fall Program Highlight: NERF Mania!

Nerf DartsGet your kids off the couch on Saturday afternoons to join their friends for everything to do with NERF! Meet at Hopewell School’s large gym and play a variety of exciting NERF based games in a fun, safe and active environment. All they need are runners and protective eyewear.

Fall Program Highlight: Lights and the City - Acrylic Painting

bhat boyThis night painting class explores the colours and drama of the city at night. With an emphasis on pizzazz rather than realism, we will draw from Marc Chagall’s use of colour and composition to create dynamic paintings. Courses are entertaining and informative, with an emphasis on fun whether you already know how to paint or not. Tea and cookies served at break.
