Leo Doyle produced a lovely video homage to the Old Firehall, which he presented to the 2009 City of Ottawa Council Budget delegations. It undoubtedly played a role in the successful campaign for funding to expand and renovate the building.

OSHP has an entry on the Old Firehall in our heritage building inventory for Old Ottawa South.

David Bouse in his 1999 essay on the history of Old Ottawa South provides a succinct history of the Old Firehall.

Bytown.net has some general notes on history of fire fighting in Ottawa which briefly mention the Old Firehall.

More info is almost certainly available from the Bytown Fire Brigade but we haven't been able to make contact with them yet.
