The Special Events Committee is a group of people, both OSCA board members and volunteers, who love a good party. We organize events that bring the Old Ottawa South community together to celebrate and to have fun.
The Committee runs many traditional events, such as:
- Old Ottawa South Porch Sale
- Fall Fest
- Shop Your Local Talent
- Song, Cider, and Sleigh Rides
- OSCA Winter Carnival
- End of Year BBQ
We introduce new events, too. In December 2009, we offered "Christmas Movies at the Mayfair", showing Elf and White Christmas. The neighbourhood responded very positively to this new offering, and we hope to make it an annual event.
You can see upcoming special events here.
Currently, celebrations are in the planning stage for the re-opening of OSCA's permanent home, the Firehall, which is undergoing renovations. We expect renovations to be completed by summer 2010 (dates to be updated), and then there will be a party!
The Special Events Committee is always looking for new members, volunteers, and ideas.
