Brendan McCoy of OSCA's community watch committee, OSWatch, presented to the Lansdowne Park Design Symposium on Thurs. Feb. 25. The presentation, called "One Site, One Plan!" expressed OSCA's position that the "front lawn" design should not be dealt with separately from the site as a whole, and reiterated the community's traffic concerns.
In an Ottawa Citizen article on Feb. 26, he was quoted as saying that the neighbourhood is "extremely worried about the devastating impact such a large development will have on traffic in certain areas". The article also indicated that virtually all community associations echoed OSCA's concern.
Brendan McCoy had another opportunity to make OSCA's position known to the public when he was interviewed by Alan Neal on CBC Radio's All In a Day.
The presentation was based on recommendations from a community consultation meeting on Feb. 20, where about 20 residents sat down with the OSWatch committee to discuss the OOS response to the Symposium.
