Francojeunesse opened in 1979 as the first French-language public school in Ottawa. It has an excellent reputation and highly-dedicated teachers. The school has almost 500 students.
Francojeunesse has an active parents council and a strong parent-teacher association that organizes numerous fund-raising events to pay for a host of extra-curricular activities. Ontario law restricts admission into French-language public schools to children who have at least one Francophone parent.
