The Carleton University campus has been our western neighbour for over 50 years when it moved from the Glebe to the current site bounded by Rideau River and the canal. Founded in 1942, Carleton University is known especially for its outstanding programs in the fields of public affairs, management journalism and industrial design. It also houses the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. The University has strong links to federal government departments, research laboratories, national associations, the diplomatic community, and high technology companies.
Carleton offers 65 programs of study in areas as diverse as public affairs, journalism, film studies, engineering, high technology and international studies. More than 2,000 professors and staff members form a dynamic team serving over 24,000 students. Carleton’s creative, interdisciplinary and international approach to research has led to many significant discoveries and creative works in science and technology, business, governance, public policy and the arts.
