There are 4 major boards of education, which serve the Old Ottawa South community with elementary and secondary educational services. These boards include:

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB)
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board sets the policy for the operation of all public schools in the Ottawa area. The Board of Trustees is made up of 12 trustees elected by zone and 2 student trustees. School board trustees are responsible for overseeing a thriving and progressive educational system, which serves over 68,000 students in 147 schools and sites. Public school taxpayers elect trustees every four years during the municipal election.
OCDSB schools, which serve at least some of Old Ottawa South, include: Hopewell Avenue, Mutchmor, First Avenue, Lady Evelyn, Glashan, Glebe Collegiate and Lisgar. Which school your child attends depends on the desired programs (e.g.: enrichment, immersion, etc.)

Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board (OCCSB)
The Ottawa-Carleton Catholic School Board operates 80 schools across the city of Ottawa. The Board has 10 Trustees, elected every 3 years during municipal elections. They are responsible for setting policy for over 39,000 students. There are 63 elementary schools, 2 intermediate schools, 15 secondary schools, 1 adult high school and 4 adult centres.
The OCSB school which serves Old Ottawa South is Immaculata.
