Carleton Preschool/Rainbow Kidschool is housed in the same facility as Lady Evelyn Alternative School and has functioned for over 30 years. The preschool is administered by a parent volunteer Board of Directors and provides:
- a morning program from 8:00 - 11:00 am, for 2-1/2 to 4-year-olds
- half-day and lunch programs from 10:30 - 2:30 pm, for 4-and 5-year-old kindergarten children
- an after school program from 2:30-5:15 pm for children from kindergarten to 9 years of age.
The philosophy and program of Carleton Preschool emphasize the development of the whole child, in an environment designed to foster self-confidence, trust, curiosity, listening skills, respect for others, and a sense that learning is creative fun. Carleton Preschool is licensed under the Day Nurseries Act.
