Councillor Clive Doucet has revealed his intentions for the Ottawa municipal elections: he will not run for council again but rather join the race for mayor.
Citing a different vision for the City of Ottawa, Doucet announced July 6th that he would not run the city behind closed doors were he elected as mayor. With Doucet’s entry into the mayoralty race, that makes 14 people contending for the position of mayor. Vying for a seat on council to represent Capital Ward, which includes Old Ottawa South, are candidates Bob Brocklebank, David Chernushenko, Isabel Metcalfe, Mano Hadavand and Ron Le Blanc.

The OSCA website is contacting each candidate to request that they provide us with their positions on Old Ottawa South issues specifically. These will be compiled and posted on a special Elections section of the website, along with email contacts and websites for each candidate.
It is a bit early yet, and not all candidates have come forward, but what information that is available is on the City of Ottawa website at http://ottawa.ca/city_hall/elections/nominations/index_en.html.
When our elections site is prepared, we will publish an article in our Thursday email newsletter to alert readers.
