Volunteers: they are the heart of any community event such as Havana Night II, and we are very grateful to all those who participated in some way, even the guests, who paid to attend so that Friends of Lansdowne have a little more in their coffers for the legal challenge (and have a great time doing it). Donations are still needed and very welcome at www.friendsoflansdownepark.ca. (Click here for a lively description of the evening!)

A thank you also goes to Deirdre McQuillan, Cathy Buchanan, Dinos Dafniotis and the rest of the staff at the Firehall for their assistance. I send my personal thanks to Oslaide Guerra and to his Havana Cafe staff for the fabulous nibbles served throughout the evening, and to the organizing team for their hours of volunteer labour, their encouragement and support. Finally, I thank all of you who bought tickets to Havana Night II, danced, laughed, drank, bid, ate, sang, and donated to the Friends of Lansdowne legal challenge. What fun we had!
The local businesses in OOS, Old Ottawa East, and the Glebe were very generous with items for the Silent Auction, also. Find out who they were here.
