MonkeyJunk, featuring Ottawa's own Steve Marriner, is quickly becoming one of the most decorated blues bands in Canada, if not the entire continent. Marriner just took home Canada’s National Blues Music Award for male vocalist and harmonica player of the year. They’ve played Bluesfest here in Ottawa, and recently performed for blues legends Buddy Guy and Bonnie Raitt in the finale concert of the Blues Music Award ceremonies in Memphis. And now you can see this band, and support the Glebe Community Association's campaign to protect Lansdowne Park all at the same time. There’s a cash bar, a dance floor for you to boogie on, and free parking across the street. Tickets $30, available at the Glebe Community Centre, Compact Music, and the Ottawa Folklore Centre.
