How can we keep up with what's happening with the property, and the next phase with the redevelopment? How will we know if our comments were paid attention to?

Clive Doucet's office has contacted OSWatch to explain that Clive recently met with the city staff and the proponents of 71 Hopewell and the outcome was a proposal to arrange a small scale meeting ie with neighbours, OSWATCH and city staff as soon as possible. No details yet on a date or location.

I also echo the concern as related by Mr. Greg Reilly to which you responded in this matter.

In that the CITY has perhaps closed the open period for request for comments, nothing should
preclude the chatter and sharing of information by OOS residents still.
Indeed this site is intended as a vehicle to rally discussion and be more immediately informed.

To close the "chat room" category seems counter-productive. Please re-consider.

I, as yet another one, would be most welcoming of this.

Sincerely
Don Brown, B.Arch.

I'm a bit confused here -- it was my impression that the original poster was referring to the City website, which was taking comments on the proposal. Now I wonder Don at least is referring to the ability to comment on the "71 Hopewell" article on this site?

If it's the latter, it's just because our comment system was configured to automatically close the commenting period for any given article 30 days after it was published. I've just bumped that up to 60 days.

Regards,
Chris (OSCA Webmaster).

Wow Chris. I am impressed. Night owl as I.

I'll be working through the night to deliver projects. Ah well.

Thanks for the 60 days, but as I know these processes, it could be going strong for much much longer .. perhaps you can monitor and yet extend if still "active".

The reason I tripped into the effect of cut off is that I posted 2 responses tonight myself to that of ...A Neighbour's Response to Infill Development ... but could not get to other than from Google's "achival backdoor" I guess. I got there by seaching for "71 Hopewell", otherwise would not have found it.

Similarly, a great posting by Bergwerff & Lindberg has been made hard to find ... as at www.oldottawasouth.c...ityCommentLetter.pdf .

Please see if these also can come back to life on OSS site as a result of the 30 day extension.

Ciao

Chris:

I see where the OSS History section also has a different "stream" re 71 Hopewell.
Maybe those folks could use access to more time too?

If sites as these "come back to life by these means, miight it be worthy to note as such in the NEWS category or such???
