Description
This lecture explores the role of an NGO in protecting and expanding Ottawa’s urban forest canopy. Michael Rosen (President of Tree Canada) will provide a brief introduction. Ms. Schwets (Senior Landscape Architect, City of Ottawa Forestry Services Branch) will speak about the City of Ottawa’s urban forestry program and the role she sees for an NGO to complement the City’s efforts. Ms. McKay (founder and director of LEAF, a Toronto-based NGO) will discuss LEAF’s history, mandate, programming and working relationship with the City of Toronto.This lecture is free and open to all.
