Explore the basics of robots by building a small robot that will drive around room while avoiding obstacles. Each child will build a simple robot with two antennae that can feel its way around a room, and in the process learn how electric motors and switches work. No previous experience needed. In order to keep costs down, taking the robot home after class is optional. Children will get lots of time during the course to play with, and learn about their robots, so there is no need to feel pressure to buy!
Instructor: Michael Sepa. For the last five years Michael Sepa has run the “Introduction to Robot Building” class at the Ottawa chapter of the Association for Bright Children (ABC).
Friday 6:00 - 9:00 p.m.
$15 per child, plus $17 materials fee if you want to take the robot home.
